meLaura Schmidt is working towards MA degrees in library science and art history at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She currently works at UW’s Special Collections and the Chazen Museum of Art. She is also a Humanities Exchange Scholar through the Center for the Humanities. Her research focuses on the histories of science and the book and how these topics relate art production. Public humanities has been the constant in her work and her academic pursuits are deeply tied to collaboration, activism and social justice.
